Loss for words
Today is Founder's Day for MSHS. What was meant to be a happy and joyous event turned out to be somewhat solemn. One of our young teachers,Miss Leong, had passed away on Wednesday. She was just aged 23. She, a demure, kind lady was always there when you needed her. Now, many of you may regard this as bullshi** and crap but do think before you rain your insults. What took her life turned out to be a heart problem, if I am not mistaken that is.
Just last week, she was one of the teachers in charge of the Bluskys' Carnival that had taken place at Suntec. I was there. She bought a few items, such as the clocks and the photo-frames made by the Sec 1. Now, whenever her family goes out on an outing, there will be one less laugh, one less smile, one less cry, one less person.
Back at school, you could literally feel the shock that the students experienced when the news broke out. Many cried out while others, in silence. The usual laughter and warmth of the school was no where to be felt nor heard. It was truly a black day. Right now, I am thinking how the teachers are going to proceed tonight's ceremony. I am sure that many of them have already felt very uncomfortable staring at that empty desk in the staff room. Today, the basketball court, multi-purpose hall were all deserted. It seems like no one is in the mood to play. Even in the bus-stop or on board the bus, the daily chatter seems to have quiten down a lot. Even my chatty classmates also shut up.
I am suddenly hit by how difficult it is for one to just forget something. That's because we are sentimental. And that's what makes us different from being a wild animal. Life is indeed fragile.
I wish that Miss Leong would rest in peace and that her family would be strong.
