On to some lighter things:
I can't exactly remember when was the last time I have watched tv for 4 hours straight.
But hey, time sure flies when you have your eyes fixated on the moving cartoons or whatsnots.
Ya..I still watch some cartoon. ^_^
Anyway, to not make myself feel too guilty, (EOY just 1 week away), I have been mugging for the past 2 hours.
Still have plenty of work to do.
Damn.
On the some lighter things.
For the past few weeks, I have been seeing a bunch of migrant workers playing soccer by the kallang river.
Never mind where they got the ball from, it looked like the S-league kinda ball, but anyway, I kinda had this realization on how simple our life could actually be.
I am sorry but this post maybe a little profound.
They, the workers, used beer bottle (the tiger beer that kind), as goal posts.
Their "field" consitutes of the walkway or rather, the pathway for vehicles to move in and out.
Their football gear is simply slippers and their casual dressing.
Then, I am drawn back to myself.
I am not that of a soccer fanatic.
But I have friends who are.
They buy the latest adidas shoes.
They buy the latest adidas, nike, reebok, whatever jersey.
But.
Comparing the skills of the migrant workers and my friends, I am sad to say however that give these migrant workers a good 2,3 weeks to train intensively, they can trash the hell out of my friends.
Serious.
I am beginning to notice how materialistic we all are.
Yes.
It is the growing affluence.
Yes, we are getting more high tech.
But that same question pops up "Do we really need it?"
Playing a sport has suddenly become such a money ripper for some aka parents.
They slog.
They work like hell.
For what? To get that number printed into their bank books.
And we just happily spend it.
I know that this may be generating some really coarse remarks but my point is>>
You want it? Get it youself. Pocket money still pretty much comes from our mum or dad or both.
It is still technically their cash.
Unless you can strike a wager or term with them like I did, then I don't think you can really say that that's your note.
Of course there is the talk of style and fashion.
Yes.
We all succuumb to that.
But just don't do it so frequently.
You don't want to end up owing banks plenty of S 11.
Anyway, I just post to make my point.
Time to hit the mug again.
