What goes around does comes around.

Believe it or not, that is true. Take for instance poetic justice. Person A breaks the law, such as drug trafficking, so down comes the sword of justice and he is sentenced to hang. Ok, maybe that's not quite a fair example. But seriously, what goes around comes around. Even Newton also says so: If Body A exerts a force F on Body B, then Body B will likewise exert of force of -F on Body A. For every action there is a reaction. For every tit there is a tat. It's called balance. Love it or hate, it's going to follow you every step you take.
So, I was just pondering. If what goes around comes around, then wouldn't it apply to fashion as well? Well, take a good look around you. You see the 70s', 80s' dress style coming back. Emo spectacles, by the way, were the first type of glasses available at the Optician's when myopia started to take form in Singapore. That, if I am correct, should be in the late 70s'.
I think it's understandable that fashion designers are at the ends of their tether when it boils down to churning out new pieces of apparel and other whats-nots. It's is only human right?
Ok, I admit, this post is getting boring. Let's starting getting personal.
I have this friend whom I knew since Secondary 1. But the number of sentences that he and I had exchanged during this gruelling 4 years can't even fill the declaration slip of the tax papers. But of the late, some thing strange has been happening to him.
For the past 4 years, he has been quite a stick in the mud sort of person. There wasn't much change of his style from Sec1 to perhaps Sec3. He talked the same manner, he walked the same manner, his attitude was still as demanding and of course, his fashion was pretty much the same. He was often the mockery of the class of being the true blue Singaporean. But then, just a couple of weeks ago, he changed.
He started donning those black rimmed spectacles with lens that looked like they could be plucked out using a pair of calipers. Then he started going to school with a sling-bag. You might think that I am making a mountain out of a mole-hill, but really, if you were me, you will be dead surprised too. If I am not mistaken, he did once shrugged off a comment made by someone who asked him why he never ever used a sling-bag. The reason? It's wasn't practical. But now...Ha! It is strange.
So silly me came up with the notion of a formual gauging the likihood of a person changing his personality and dresscode. The formula is really quite crude and unpolished and unproven of course, but since this is a blog entry and not to be taken seriously, I don't see why not I shouldn't share it with you all. =)

l= likihood of someone being gobbled up by fashion
IQ= Intelligence Quotient
EQ= Emotional Quotien
$= Of course is money...
Therefore, you get:

L= 1/2 x IQ x (EQ)^2 x 4$

The reason for 1/2 is because of probability. This should be simple to understand. Take for example you are walking down the hallway. You hair is insanely long and you decided to change the colour of your shoelaces for today. Then, the DM comes along. There are 2 ways that you could take. Either you turn back and pray like hell that he missed you, or try your luck. So, the possibility is 50:50. The same rule applies here. The likihood of someone becoming a fashionista is 50%.
IQ: It plays an important role in your life. It is embelmic of your acadamic grades and plays a pivotal role whether or not you have the time to go shopping.
EQ: This is your personality and your view of life. I can't help it if your EQ is low.
$: I am still in the midst of thinking about this one. Maybe I should just take away the 4, it's confusing. Haha.

Anyway, that is food for thought. And if you were so interested as I was about people's personalities, try equating the formula out yourself! You have to find the websites that conducts reliable tests of EQ and IQ by the way. I am not a one-stop "everything on this planet is sold here' kind of station.
My mum said this to me this morning: "Ah Yang, judging by the way that you do your mathematics, I dare say that if you have a relationship, it will last 4 months max. You attention span is too damn short." Then she gave me that motherly-worry-angry-helpless look and walked out of my room. I was stupefied. But that, I wil leave it for some other day.
Comment!!!

this used to be a funhouse. But now it’s full of evil clowns.
