Just keep running.
I just got back exactly an hour ago. I just had my dinner half an hour ago. I will need to do some work later in half to an hour's time; this would depend on my mental state by the time this post is finished.
Today was a long day. Triple periods of GP and likewise for Biology. I find GP rather mundane already; current affairs, modern day issues like death rates, aging population. It gets to an extent whereby what you are writing resembles that of a newspaper report except without those pictures which makes reading the papers a little less pain in the ass. Math tutorial was pretty much all right; she was going through the topic of preliminaries which I say is bloody boring. The stuff is simple to an extent. Then after was the 'fun' period.
I have come to realise how much I sucked at Biology. Okay, to be more exact, how much MORE I have sucked in this subject since Sec3. The advent of Chemistry to that damn topic did not alleviate matters mind you; it just worsened it. But. There was still fun to come.
We had practical next and the scene at the lab resembled more like a wet market than a laboratory. People were shuttling here and there and asking constantly 'How much to add ah?'. I think the hot water metal container thing was the most scary amongst the equipments. At least it did make some hesitate. I sort of prefer the tap version back at Maris Stella but then, what the hell.
Then came the experiments themselves. Because water has a high heat capacity, it took its own sweet time to boil so I had to venture off to other experiments that did not involve a boiling water bath. That meant the protein test, emulsion test and the retarded Vitamin C test. When I got to the emulsion test, the water in the beaker was already bubbling like crazy. So, I did what I had to do. But then, I didn't realise one thing. My fingers had a film of oil thanks to some person who didn't use the syringe to suck up the oil properly; oil + flame = damn bad. But thankfully, I still have 10 fingers, for now.
Taekwando was next. We did the same old pattern again but this time round in the reverse direction. It took some getting used to but after about 10 minutes, it pretty much became second nature. The fun run was next.
I thought we were only going to run 2.4km; little did I know that I was about to get a lot more. I jogged along with Dewei cause he was not feeling too well. Then we jogged, and jogged and jogged some more. Then suddenly, I lost sight of him. My thighs were blood red- think it's the fabric rubbing against the skin- and it started to hurt. I just continued jogging. I caught sight of Dewei when I took a turn down the over-head bridge-we crossed 2 in total. Then, it was the home stretch back to the General Office.
I don't mean to boast but the total distance that I ran did not feel like 4-5km. At least that's what the seniors said. I could still breath okay and was not as exhausted as I was on Tuesday. Perhaps the swimming does help my stamina a little bit.
The both of us then went to the pull-up bars where he had to do his training while I did mine.
even a bee knows when to stop hitting the glass wall.
i will stop now.
