VJ Boleh...VJ Boleh..
Before I begin, in the midst of reading this rather lengthy and maybe boring post, should my sentences sound illogical, don't bash your head against the wall. This is because I am currently suffering from a syndrome called CTMUS Syndrome. It stands for Cheer Too Much Until Siao Syndrome.
Okay, let's go.
Day 1:
I could finally take another bus other than stupid 100 which takes its own sweet time and crawl to school. First day of school, I boarded bus 31. Nothing much really. Just got packed like sardines and sms-ed to Dewei to let him know that I would be late. After that, I met them at VJC concourse where we were supposed to go queue up to fill in some particulars or something. I listened to Dewei's wrong explanation and queued for 20 minutes in the wrong lane. Yay!! In the end, I had to rejoin another even longer, but this time correct queue to get the stuff done. After that, it was mainly going to take photo, go buy PE attire, change into PE attire- a fashion statement already- and then go back to the hall into our OG.
My OG is called Cyrus Clyde. At first, when I got there, there was only 1 girl. So, I was thinking, well shit happens. By that time, there were already like 6 guys, including me. Then, another girl came. Then another. And another. And another. And another. And another. Like mushrooms really. Pop, pop, pop, pop. No larh, just kidding. Before you know it, there were already more girls than guys. Hmm, the 3:1 ratio is rather accurate after all.
Then...I cannot remember what happened next.
But I know one thing. By the end of Day 1, I got to know ALL the guys.
All of them
Anand.
Ming Xuan.
Zheng Yu.
Jackie.
Jason.
Myself.
And the damnest thing is, I didn't even talk to a single girl. Wow.
Day 2:
I dragged myself out of bed cause I was really beat from all the cheering on the prior day. I felt even dead-er when I saw how dead the Clyde was. Well, people need time to get warming up to. But the highlight of the day was yet to come. There were the usual games and such which I played along. I got like groped by a girl during one of the games when she was trying to prevent me from advancing beyond the line. Like say when I just jump over the previous one, she would be like 'touch touch touch touch'. Then I went "EH! I just step in you touch for what." Maybe I should be glad a girl wants to touch me. -.-
Then the dance.
The friendship or couple dance.
We lined up. Men one column, ladies the other. Then when I hesitated, the OGL told me that I had to do it some day, let's say the coming 14th February. Urgh huh. My partner was this Cedarian called Xin Rui.
The beginning was okay I suppose. The usual happened.
Got slapped.
Man, meaning me, decided to try my luck again and be thick-skinned. Courted the lady once more. The lady responded this time and well, danced and we, men, danced along too. Then came the tango. To those who don't know, the man was suppose to hold the girl by the waist and set the dancefloor on fire. But then, you know, stuff happens. I asked her if I could, you know, like hold her waist. It is courtesy you know. Then she said yes. But then, despite that, I was still a tad worried and didn't dare do it.
I think that might be perhaps why she like dao-ed me or something during the later couple dances. Perhaps me not holding her waist was like saying she's not attractive or something. Girls are such complicated works. I don't know. I really don't know.
Then we had the OG dinner at Parkway. I got to talk to some more people in my group. Excluding the guys since I know them already, I talked to Xin Rui-not really talk but just laughed our heads off, Ping Hui and Chrsytal.
We played a game called 21. I will explain the rules some other time. But the penalty was that the loser had to drink half a cup of water. About the size of a regular at Mos.
And guess what?
I drank like so many cups because I sucked at the game. I even got killed by my own rules. So, well, at least we laughed and all but I had to go to the loo.
We parted after that and Chrystal and I boarded the same bus. So I talked to her. In the end, we exchanged phone numbers and all.
Day 3:
Wet games. There wasn't much really as we didn't get the really bad wet games. I did get relatively wet though and I understood why we needed to wear dark coloured clothes that day. He he. Oh ya, earlier into the day, we went to our classes and all. I am in S33.
So later, there was the final cheering session and then, two mass dances.
Of course, the couple dance.
The first was absolutely embarrassing so I shan't talk about it.
The second is moderately better. I decided not to dance with a guy this time so I, when they announced it, immediately went to approach Ping Hui-since she was also alone- and danced with her. It wasn't as good as the time with Xin Rui but then, what the hell. I took 30 minutes to muster enough courage to get her number. She didn't ask for mine though. Hmm.
OG dinner after that day. We went to BK at East Coast and talked quite a bit. Then we had brain teasers where I felt like a complete moron. I got to know Michelle though- the 15 year old IP girl who, well, quite silly followed what one J2 told her. Haha. We exchanged numbers after that.
Today
I liked the mass dance session today. It truly exemplified the spirit of VJ. Folks who know me will know that this is true because I hardly use such phrases. Not even for Maris Stella.
It rained. Buckets of them. But we stayed. We didn't curse. We didn't cry. We didn't leave. We cheered. We rocked Suntec.
We tau pok in the rain. We played choo-train in the rain- the Marist train was damn short and sad though; not surprisingly. We went Yo VJC in the rain. It was fun. Then the couple dance. I danced with Chrystal. But I think I sorta sucked so bad that I should apologise to her on Monday. Ya. Zhi Yang makes a shitty dancer.
Well, I will comment more on the dance tomorrow. Tired.
